How to get help

Project SHARE programs and services are available to anyone residing in Niagara Falls who is struggling to meet their basic needs. Some programs may require documentation to be provided in order to determine eligibility. For more information on program requirements please call 905-357-5121

How often can a client receive help at Project SHARE?

Clients may come once per month for both perishable and non-perishable foods, and essential household items.

Where do you get the food from?

Project SHARE delivers over 1,000,000 lbs of food annually. Food drives, Project SHARE events, 3rd party events, barrels at community partners, support from local grocery stores, bakeries, farmers, restaurants and donations from the community. Project SHARE purchases emergency food in bulk through monetary donations to obtain the best price per unit.

How are you funded?

Project SHARE is a charitable organization established in 1989 (#107861338RR0001). While funding is provided by The City of Niagara Falls and The Region Municipality of Niagara, these dollars do not cover all of the costs of operating the building, programs, and emergency resources. Fundraising of $900,000 annually must be raised within the community.

Do you accept donations of gently used clothing or household items?
Project SHARE does not have the physical space to accept these items, so we have partnered with St. Andrew’s United Church Shoulder to Shoulder Program and Goodwill Industries Niagara.
How many people do you help?

An average of 130 families per day come to Project SHARE for emergency assistance, and 32% of those we help are children. Last year we served over 14,000 individuals.

Do you prefer donations of money, gift cards or food?

Project SHARE gratefully accepts donations of fresh, frozen and non-perishable foods and monetary gifts. Monetary donations go further to purchase emergency food necessities.
