Meet Our Amazing Volunteers

These are the incredible people who make Project SHARE possible. Their dedication, compassion, and hard work change lives every single day.

Dennis Bray

Dennis Bray

Volunteer Since Day OneNiagara Falls

"I love coming here, this place is like my family."

Dennis Bray has been a cornerstone of Project SHARE since we first opened. A retired police officer with decades of experience working with young offenders, Dennis has always been deeply connected to the community. Back in the 1980s, he served on the Social Planning Council representing the police, and he spent time at the Boys and Girls Club as assistant to the regional director. His dedication is so legendary that the warehouse has been named after him! Whether it's picking up donations, stocking shelves, sorting goods, or putting his carpentry skills to work building parts of the warehouse, Dennis has done it all. Now, at 87, he focuses on our Farmers Liaison program — ensuring non-edible or expired food is recycled to partner farmers for animal feed or compost. Dennis volunteers five days a week with the same energy and dedication he has always had.

Rick & Linda

Rick: Since January · Linda: 1 monthNiagara Falls

"The staff here is awesome, so it makes it a great place to volunteer."

Rick began volunteering with Project SHARE in January after discovering the organization through his gym. Working in the warehouse, he enjoys the teamwork and positive environment. He also values volunteering alongside his mother, turning it into meaningful family time while helping others. "There are so many people who need support and help," he says. Linda recently joined as a volunteer shopper after retiring. She enjoys meeting new people, helping clients, and being part of such a welcoming environment. "Clients are always friendly and grateful — it's really a pleasure," Linda says. She treasures volunteering alongside her son, making it a meaningful activity they can share together. For both Rick and Linda, Project SHARE is about community, connection, and making a real difference.

Maria

8 years (Retired)Niagara Falls

"I love volunteering because it gets me out of the house and allows me to make a real impact in the community."

Maria has been a dedicated Project SHARE volunteer for eight years after being introduced through family. Over time, even her neighbor and granddaughter became involved. As a shopper, Maria enjoys connecting directly with clients, listening to their stories, and helping them find what they need. With her background in customer service, she brings warmth and compassion to every interaction. She reminds people that the need remains great and every donation helps support local families. For Maria, volunteering is about more than giving back — it's about building community, creating connections, and helping others with dignity and care.

Dave & Cole

Cole: 5 months · Dave: 2 yearsNiagara Falls

"What I enjoy most is the sense of community — everyone is helpful, positive, and fun to work with."

Cole has been volunteering at Project SHARE for five months while balancing school. He was drawn to the opportunity to give back and quickly found a welcoming, positive community. "People here genuinely want to help. Don't be scared or shy to come in — take what you need, we are here for you." Dave has spent the past two years volunteering in the warehouse since retiring. He values the teamwork, variety, and strong sense of purpose that comes with helping others. "The people here are dedicated and respectful — everyone truly cares about the clients we serve." Dave especially admires the compassion shown by Project SHARE shoppers, who take time to connect personally with clients and treat everyone with dignity.
